ECC is a company that primarily sells retail hardware, this logo was made with that in mind. Inspiration was taken from logo-types like Colt, Build+, and DeWalt. While these brands don't sell hardware goods, their association with tools that build hardware made sense to me.
This simple composition retains it's details, aside from the (R), in multiple formats, and works well in black and white. These basic requirements give these logo-types the flexibility to be applied to any physical or digital collateral.
Bold lines give these logo-types weight and communicate durability. Above, Sharp angular lines and sans serif font communicate precision, the dark blue adds a touch of boldness and professionalism.
This one's my favorite variation, the industrial font communicates strength, durability, and reliability. The bold container adds a touch of visual interest while also reinforcing the idea of solidity and stability. This logo conveys a sense of toughness and professionalism. The use of an industrial font can create a memorable and recognizable brand identity that resonates with customers the hardware sector.
This logo looks rough and rugged, I could see it on a tool-box, in chrome, against a candy paint red. The idea of "Hardware Brand" comes across clearly.
ECC is a collection of brands, these icons and logo-types act as the umbrella for the subsidiary brands nested within ECC. The first and most established brand serves as a symbol of guarantee and bolsters the reputation of its constituencies.
